How can stress, anxiety and trauma affect a person?
We have a tendency to minimize the impact that stress, anxiety and trauma have on us as a way of coping and “getting on“ with life. However, each of these can disrupt our lives and our well-being in many ways immediately and down the road. Here are some of the common impacts that I see in my practice:
Can I be hypnotized?
Yes, absolutely you can because hypnosis is a natural occurrence. Just recall a time when your mind drifted off into a pleasant daydream, or those moments when you are deeply relaxed right before you fall asleep. Those are examples of natural states of hypnosis and are similar to the pleasant states you will experience during a guided hypnotic session.
What can I expect during a hypnosis session with you?
You can expect to feel safe, supported and in control at all times. We will begin each session by talking so that I can get a good sense of where you're at and where you'd like to be. In the hypnotic portion of a session you will reach a state of comfortable hypnotic rest that is right for you at the time, and it may even vary from session to session.
What is EFT & Havening?
EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) and Havening are non-invasive, psycho-sensory therapies that help to stimulate calming delta brain waves and to reduce cortisol (stress hormone) levels in the body. These techniques are surprising simple, yet a guided session can be highly effective for helping to reduce strong negative feelings related to stress, anxiety, trauma, fears, depression, grief, jealousy, guilt, shame and other unwanted feelings. I often combine these techniques with with hypnosis and acupuncture (for in person clients) for even deeper healing results.
What is 5 point auricular (ear) acupuncture?
Acupuncture is an ancient traditional Chinese medicine technique whereby very thin needles are inserted into the skin to stimulate meridian points in the body for the purpose of healing. Here is a brief explanation of the 5 point protocol I practice and the healing benefits of each point.
